Recently Chelsea produced a ‘superhuman’ display to beat Atletico Madrid at their new stadium in the UEFA Champions League, to help them become the first away team to win at the new Atletico stadium.
The win put Chelsea in control of their group and also put them above rivals Roma and 5 points clear of Atletico Madrid in the group, however this isn’t the most interesting part of the story.
It turns out that having such a wonderful night of football against strong opposition, may give rise to the idea that the Chelsea team may have had some help in the form of performance enhancing drugs.
UEFA asked the defenders Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta to take the pee in a pot test, to make sure they didn’t have any extra help from illegal substances. Normally players have taken offence to this accusation, but the two blues defenders seemed to take it in their stride!
Posting up a picture while in the doping control room, Cesar Azpilicueta also added this caption, “With my friend @marcosalonso28 in the doping control after this HUGE WIN!!! Come on Blues!!!”
